On 28 November, Elwin Ho, CEO of Pachira Information Technology, delivered a keynote speech titled “Pachira Dedicated to R&D in AI and Big Data" at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cooperation and Development Forum of the Asia Youth Leaders Forum 2021.
Dear dignitaries,
Dear moderator,
I am Elwin Ho, CEO of Pachira. First of all, I'd like to offer special thanks to the organizers for allowing me this opportunity to share our experiences in AI and Big Data.
Pachira is an AI company founded in the Silicon Valley and based in Hengqin. Our investors include the founder of the world's biggest EDA company, NavInfo in the aerospace science and technology industry, Shanghai Internet-of-things Fund, Gree Financial Holdings, Da Heng Qin Fund, Leader Fund, and Mr. Chui Sai Peng. Pachira primarily provides core AI and Big Data technologies to finance, automobiles, and government departments.
Pachira focuses on the R&D of core technologies and products in intelligent speech. Our core technologies are our proprietary neural-network-based voice recognition, semantic comprehension, and TTS, and we use these technologies to empower financial institutions' customer service centers, government service centers, and the intelligent transformation of large automobile factories.
Pachira boasts research, development, and support teams in the US and China, including mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao. We have several hundred success stories in the finance, automobile, and governmental sectors, with clients such as the Bank of China, China Merchant Bank, Cigna & CMB, HSBC (Hong Kong, China), Wynn (Macao, China), ETMall (Taiwan, China), Taiwan Life, Toyota (Japan), Fortemedia (US). Pachira is currently focusing its main efforts on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Regarding vehicle-mounted systems, Pachira uses voice interaction to help drivers control their vehicles with their voice. Our clients include Beijing Automotive Group, Chery, and Chang'an. On top of this, starting as of now, all Lexus vehicles will use our voice interaction technology.
There are 11 cities in the Greater Bay Area, including the two special administrative regions of Macao and Hong Kong. The area has a GDP of over 10 trillion, with a growth rate exceeding Silicon Valley, which stands around 7.9%. There are over 200,000 national-level high-tech companies, 36 national key laboratories, and 16 Fortune 500 companies. I personally believe that this is a huge market, with incredibly rich reserves for scientific research and unlimited potential for development, especially in the field of technological innovation.
One of the highlights of the Greater Bay Area is the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and one of the main objective of this zone is to assist Macao in appropriately diversifying its economy as well as helping Macao integrate into the development of the Greater Bay Area and the whole country. It is a focus of the development of the Greater Bay Area. The In-depth Cooperation Zone will focus on four main industries: R&D, modern finance, cultural tourism, and traditional Chinese medicine. In terms of R&D, Pachira's AI and big-data technologies are an important module in the R&D blueprint. Pachira boasts over 100 success stories in intelligent finance, which can also assist the modern finance industry in furthering its development. Our core technologies and experience can also help cultural tourism and the TCM industry in terms of automated development. I hope that we can apply Pachira's core technologies, especially its neural-network-based voice technologies, in the Greater Bay Area. We already have dozens of projects in the Greater Bay Area. We are also in discussion for some potential projects. These projects primarily focus on intelligent finance, smart city, and intelligent transformation of hotels and automobile enterprises.
Finally, I hope that Pachira can bring its achievements from decade-long research in AI – including hundreds of core technologies, dozens of investment organizations, about 100 partners in AI across the world, and Macao’s R&D achievements – into the Greater Bay Area. In so doing, I hope that we can help Macao people assimilate in the Greater Bay Area and contribute to the technology sector here.
Thank you!
