谈科技的发展和健康医疗之间的关系以及科技创新如何真正助力医疗健康的发展
首先，我介绍一下自己。我来自心脏病学领域，我也是一名心脏病医生。
技术意味着创新，创新意味着拯救人们的生命。我不知道五十年前技术做了什么。但在这个时代，我看见世上出现了许多创新和新技术，尤其是在心脏病学，尤其是新冠疫苗。大家是否记得，三年前当新冠疫情爆发时死亡率是多少？当创新出现了，疫苗来了，死亡率大幅下降。这就是“以人为本救人的创新”。这是第一方面。
第二方面，在我从事的心脏病学领域，每个月，都有来自中国的新产品的发布。原因是，西方的产品——西方的机械和医疗设备非常昂贵。中国发布了一款新设备，叫做经导管主动脉瓣置换。不需要动手术，就能把这个设备植入心脏里，这就是经导管主动脉瓣置换术。在中国，大概有五六个大公司推出了这个新设备，中国制造的设备。值得庆幸和欢呼的是，每年有4000多个这款设备被植入到患者体内。因此，我们认为，创新就是一张路线图，指引通往文明和患者安康、通往新的安全和健康的生活。
谈孟加拉国和中国医疗合作情况以及在两国间来往十几年后对中国医疗界的感受
2010年，我来到中国，在山东大学攻读硕士学位。2017年，我获得了山东大学心脏病学博士学位。2018年，我也加入了中国这方面最权威的医院——北京的阜外医院。这是全球最大的心脏中心，也许很多中国人都不知道这一点——最大的心脏中心，不仅是中国最大，还是全球最大。这也是我加入阜外医院的原因。我的领导吴永健教授是中国最知名的心脏病医生之一。首先，我们不仅处理中国患者的治疗，我们还尝试和“一带一路”沿线国家开展合作。因此，在2018年，我们在中国首次召开了“一带一路”健康论坛，地点在阜外医院。
孟加拉国是“一带一路”沿线国家。中国国家领导人访问孟加拉国后，这是中孟两国间另一种层次的交流。我也想告诉你们一个好消息：在制药领域，孟加拉国非常强。我们的保健药品出口到全球超97个国家，包括欧洲地区、阿拉伯地区、美国。这些制药产品，我们并非从其他地方进口，我们只进口原材料。我们的许多药物都是为人民而生产的，也为了出口到其他国家。所以，据我了解，我感受到的是我们要与“一带一路”沿线国家的医生和医药健康行业加强沟通，以此为人们未来的征程带来共同价值。
“一带一路”沿线国家有许多科学家和研究者。为什么中国发展得如此迅速？只有一个原因：中国知道如何解决问题，这是中国的优势，也是中国的力量。因此，我所感受到的就是青年领袖和青年的最大的例子，他们来中国实现自己的梦想。在孟加拉国，我的城市建立了一所很好的医院。去年，我也建立了一个新冠病毒测试中心，来中国的人，必须先在我的实验室做新冠病毒测试，这也是在中国驻孟加拉国大使馆的帮助下实现的。我感觉中孟两国是亲朋密友，我们未来可以在健康医疗领域有更多的合作。
用一句话总结对医疗健康领域未来发展的最大期待
事实上，每一个生命都至关重要，这是我们在新冠疫情期间学到的。所以，展望未来，过去三年许多国家之间产生了一个信任鸿沟，而未来的几年，制药公司和医疗健康产业可以更关注如何构建互信、携手向前，共同研究开出良方以造福未来、造福人类。谢谢。
Misbahul Ferdous says many scientists along the Belt and Road come to China to fulfill their dreams
On 25 March, Md Misbahul Ferdous, vice president of Asian Society of Cardiology and director of clinical research of Lepu Medical, shared his thoughts at the Health and Medical Care Forum of the Asia Youth Leaders Forum. Following is an excerpt from his speech.
Question: What is the relationship between scientific and technological development and health care? How is scientific and technological development empowering the development of health care?
First of all, I want to tell you about myself: my background is cardiology; I am a cardiologist as well.
Technology means innovation; innovation means saving people’s lives. I don’t see, like 40 years before or 50 years before, what technology has done. But in my age, I saw many new innovations and technology in the world, especially in cardiology, and especially for the COVID vaccine. I just reminded people three years before when the pandemic situation happened, what was the death rate? After the innovation and vaccine came, the death rate sharply fell down. That is called “innovation for the people, saving life”. No. 1.
No. 2, regarding my cardiology field, there are many new products launching each and every month from China, because Western products – Western machine and medical devices – are very expensive. There is a new device launch from China called TAVR Aortic Valve. We put it inside the heart without surgery. We call it Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation. Inside China, like more than five or six big companies, they launch this new device made in China. And luckily and successfully, each and every year, more than 4000 devices implanted in the patients’ body. So, what we feel is innovation is the road map for the civilization and patients’ safety, for the new safety and healthy life.
Question: Please share with us the cooperation between Bangladesh and China in the medical care sector. You have been living in and interacting with China for more than a decade, how do you feel about China’s medical scene?
In 2010, I came in China for my master’s degree in Shandong University, and I finished my PhD in 2017 from Shandong University in cardiology. In 2018, I joined the most prestigious hospital in China, Fuwai Hospital in Beijing. This is the largest heart center in the world. I think many Chinese people don’t know this as well. This is the largest heart center, not only in China, biggest heart center in the world. So that’s the reason why I joined Fuwai Hospital. And my boss Professor Wu Yongjian is one of the renowned cardiologists in China. First of all, we target not only the Chinese patient handling; we try to cooperate with the Belt and Road countries. So, in 2018, first time in China, we opened Belt and Road Health Forum in Fuwai Hospital.
Bangladesh is a part of the Belt and Road countries. After President Xi Jinping visited Bangladesh, this is another level of communication between Bangladesh and China. And I want to tell you one very good news: for the pharmaceutical industry, Bangladesh is very strong. Our healthcare pharmaceutical is exported to more than 97 countries, including Europe, Arab, and USA. For the pharmaceutical products, we are not importing from anywhere, only the raw materials. Most of the medicine is for the people, and for the exporting to other countries. So, according to my knowledge, what I feel is that we have to develop more and more communication with the Belt and Road doctors and pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, which can bring common value for the future journey of the people.
So many scientists and researchers in the Belt and Road countries, and China develops so fast because of only one reason: they know how to solve the problem. That’s the benefit and that’s the power of China. So, what I feel is the biggest example for the young leaders and the young. They come to China to fulfill their dream. As well as in Bangladesh, we established one of the best hospitals in my city. Last year, I established a COVID testing center, so who are coming to China, they must go to my lab for making the COVID test, with the help of the Chinese Ambassy in Bangladesh. So, I feel China and Bangladesh, they are very good friends and close friends. We can exchange more and more healthcare industry cooperation for the future journey.
Question: Please summarize your biggest expectation for the future of the healthcare sector with one sentence.
Actually, every single life is very valuable. We learned it in the COVID time. Every single life. So, for the future journey, I think during the last 3 years there was a big gap for the trust between many, many countries. So, I think for the next few years, the pharmaceutical companies and healthcare industry, they can focus more on how to gain the trust, run together, research together, and come up with a good solution for the future journey and for the people.
